I am so excited to have the opportunity to return this year as the school nurse at the Early Childhood Center. My services are brought to the school system by the DeSoto County Department of Health. During the course of the year I will be assisting your child with things such as: Hearing & vision screenings, growth & development screenings, nursing assessment/health observation (as needed), medication administration (with Dr. approval) and weekly head checks. I will also be doing some education classes with your child throughout the year dealing with safety, personal hygiene, dental hygiene, and violence prevention.

MEDICATION:

Please keep in mind that IF you child should require medication while at school YOU will need to provide the following:

1. Signed PARENT permission slip.

2. Signed written instructions by the child's DOCTOR

3. Bring medicine in ORIGINAL, LABELED container.

4. NO MEDICINE WILL BE TRANSPORTED ON THE SCHOOL BUS.

HEAD CHECKS:

During our weekly head checks your child may be Excluded from school for having head lice AND/OR NITS. We have a NIT free policy which means your child MAY NOT return to school until they are completely free of nits.
